[Cebu Island Hopping] A Style-Savvy Couple’s Memorable Private Tour

Today, we would like to share the story of a couple who recently joined us for a Cebu Island Hopping Tour. Among the many guests we’ve hosted, this couple left a lasting impression with their unique style and preparation.

Convenient Departure from MyCebuTrip
Our tour begins directly from the MyCebuTrip office.
This is one of the few departure points on Mactan Island where you can board the boat directly without needing a small transfer boat, even during low tide.

When we were taking pre-departure photos, I noticed the gentleman was carrying a large bag. Little did I know, it was packed with preparation for the perfect photos!

First Stop: Nalusuan Island (Customized Itinerary)
This couple chose to visit Nalusuan Island as their very first stop.

Typically, the MyCebuTrip course follows the order of Nalusuan Marine Sanctuary Snorkeling – Nalusuan Island Visit – Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary Snorkeling. However, some guests prefer to visit the island first to take photos before getting wet.

Usually, guests might bring a cover-up or wear their photo outfit over their swimwear. However, this couple went the extra mile and brought a completely separate set of outfits just for the photo shoot.

Here is a beautiful shot of them on the island. Even from the back, you can feel the romantic atmosphere.

Snorkeling at Nalusuan Marine Sanctuary
After the photo session, it was time to jump in!

The snorkeling point at Nalusuan Marine Sanctuary is famous for the incredible number of tropical fish that gather during feeding time.
Because the water is relatively shallow here, it is a must-visit spot for families with children.

Also, the salinity of the Cebu sea is higher than in some other regions (like Korea), providing higher buoyancy, which makes floating and swimming much easier and more fun.

We then moved to a slightly different spot with a bit more depth.

Please note: Snorkeling points may be adjusted on the day depending on the density of other tourist boats, the guests’ comfort level with water, and the tide conditions.

The vast coral reefs here are truly charming.
Since these areas are designated as Marine Sanctuaries, entrance fees and environmental taxes are collected to maintain and protect these beautiful corals.

After snorkeling at Nalusuan, we enjoyed lunch on the boat while heading to the next stop, Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary.
Lunch was a Korean-style Bento (Dosirak), freshly prepared by MyCebuTrip.

This is the view from the bow of our Bangka (traditional boat).
Although the sea wasn’t perfectly calm like a sheet of glass that day, it was still perfect for enjoying the refreshing Cebu breeze and the open horizon.

Before arriving at the sanctuary, we had a brief session of traditional hand-line fishing. (We’ll skip the fishing photos for this post!)

Finally, we arrived at Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary, a spot we highly recommend among the sanctuaries near Mactan.

If you are comfortable in the water, this is the most exciting place to snorkel. It is also a popular spot for our Freediving Hopping Tours.

However, since the water is deeper here compared to Nalusuan, older guests or non-swimmers often prefer to relax on the boat and enjoy the view at this stop.

After enjoying the underwater world of Hilutungan, we headed back to the port, wrapping up the day’s journey.

Thank you for choosing MyCebuTrip. We look forward to creating unforgettable memories with you.
