Cebu Travel Advisory: Typhoon Expected to Pass Through Cebu on November 4-5
A travel advisory is in effect for those planning to visit Cebu in the coming days.
On November 1, a tropical depression formed in the far eastern sea of the Philippines. While the formation of these weather systems is common, the expected path of this particular depression is a cause for significant concern.
According to the forecast track released by the Philippine weather agency, PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration), the storm is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on November 2, at which point it will be given the local name “Tino.”

Current projections show it will strengthen into a typhoon before making landfall, which is anticipated on November 4. Once it intensifies, it will be known as the 25th typhoon of the season, “Kalmaegi.”
Having formed far out at sea, the storm has had ample time to gather strength and is expected to be quite powerful upon arrival. While it is not currently forecast to become a “super typhoon,” its projected path cuts directly through the Visayas region, passing very close to or directly over Cebu and Bohol.
Because of this, we must be prepared for potential typhoon damage and disruptions between November 3rd and November 5th.
There are still 3-4 days before its expected landfall, and the forecast track could still change. However, we strongly urge anyone planning to travel to Cebu during this period to exercise extreme caution and stay updated on the latest weather bulletins.
