Tropical Depression Wilma Expected to Cross Cebu, Philippines – Caution Advised December 6th-7th
The Tropical Depression named Wilma, which formed in the seas near the Philippines, is currently forecast to cross Cebu before heading west.

Strong winds and heavy rainfall should be anticipated on December 6th and 7th.
Fortunately, Tropical Depression Wilma formed relatively close to the Philippines’ eastern coast. Because it is making landfall soon, it appears unlikely to strengthen into a full-fledged typhoon.
Nevertheless, as it will pass directly over Cebu, caution is necessary on December 6th and 7th. It is expected that Bangka boat operations may be difficult on both days.
For travelers currently in Cebu, if you have booked tours such as Island Hopping, Oslob Whale Shark Tours, or Canyoneering, it is highly recommended that you contact your tour operator for the latest updates. It is likely that tour operators have already begun notifying customers about potential cancellations or schedule changes.
While major resorts in Mactan and areas of Cebu City and Mandaue City where most tourists stay are not expected to sustain severe damage, other regions of Cebu may experience adverse effects.
The Philippines has faced considerable impact from typhoons and tropical depressions since November. This year has been a challenging one for the country due to these weather systems.
